India wins the final of the compaq cup with the help of brilliant century from master blaster Sachin and Harbajan's 5 wicket hall. They have many misses but the score is high enough to escape them from their missed chances. Kandamby is the benificiary from indian misses. In 31st over yusuf pathan missed simple catch in the bowling of yuvaraj when kandamby was 37 only. finally he bowled on 66 by harbajan. India win the match by 46 runs. Sachin won both man of the match and man of the series awards.
Don't go by the 46-run margin. India's fielders and fast bowlers were rattled during the frenetic chase. It was their spinners, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh, who saved them the embarrassment. They took critical wickets at critical points and Raina's dismissal of Chamara Kapugedera in the 43rd over, with 68 runs and the batting Powerplay to go, proved to be the decisive blow. A pumped-up Harbhajan then finished off what he started, dismissing the last three batsmen in a hurry. He had earlier taken two wickets in the eighth and 10th over of the innings to rein in an explosive start to the chase.

Final -Compaq cup
India lost the league match against Srilanka badly. They failed to perform under pressure. Today is the final. This is an important match because the winner will boosted their cofindance before the championstrophy. India will work hard to win the trophy. The bad news for India is Muralitharan is fit to play. It will definitely affecting their winning chances. Most of their batmen are struggled against Murali. So they must choose the right combination,they may try Abisek nayar before the champions trophy. Today is the knockout match for the Kiwis. If they lose today they are out of the tournament.
It's India's third one-day series in Sri Lanka in the last 13 months. India's record here was not good before they arrived for a tri-series in 2005 having won just nine of 33 matches. They developed into a strong one-day side after that and turned that record .They have won seven of ten matches since then.In their last two series they have beating Sri Lanka 3-2 last August and 4-1 in February.There's plenty at stake for India in this series - if they win all the matches there, they will jump to No. 1 in the ICC's ODI rankings for the first time since the rank is introduce..
To beat India, New Zealand will have to well in all the departments of the game that let them down in the first game. Their batting was solid but the application was laps. Srilanka won the match vs Newziland easily
Srilanka won the match by 97 runs. After winning the toss,they have bad start, the loss their first wicket in the 6 ball of the match,the runrate is not good either.After 26 overs they have 69/5 with RR of 2.65 only.But after that Samaraweera and Mathew have a good partnership of 127 runs with Samarweera scoring century and Mathew fifty.At the end of 50 overs they score 216 for the loss of seven wickets. Newziland also have bad start they lost Ryder in the 8th ball of the match.He out for a duck.They didn't recover from it. only Elliot manage to score 50,and Butler 25.All other batsmens are failed to impress. They fall cheaply.Mallinga have the figure of 4 for 28.Newziland allout for 119. Srilanka won the match convincely by 97 runs.Samaraweera is man of the match for his match saving century.

Sri lanks triseries

This is my blog dicussing about cricket particularly Indian cricket. Srilanka tri series started today. Srilanka in good form as they win the test series. Newziland fightback in 20-20 match. Newziland will try to revenge the test defeat. So it is realy interesting to watch.The bad news is weather. If the weather allows definitely it is good contest to watch. I will post the updates here.
